I don\'t know if this is a limitation in the kio api, but the progress bar and the seek feature doesn\'t work for smb and http urls.

This would be great if it works.

Yes, unfortunately a limitation of TagLib/KIO. We cannot read tags for remote media, and neither can we determine the length. Also, seeking is in general impossible with the current KIO incarnation.

We\'re not happy with these limitations, but there is no solution in sight.
