First off I really like amarok and use it a lot: much better than every other Linux music player I\'ve tried.
I do have a feature request though: Currently I have three computers, each with seperate music collections all sat on my LAN. For amarok to have all three in it\'s collection I believe I have to mount the drives on the box playing the music using . What if instances of amarok could talk to other instances of amarok, using each local collection to provide one big collection. Then, when my local amarok requested a song not local to the machine, the remote amarok would stream it/send it temporarily. That way the need for configuring network disks would vanish, giving the end (dumb) user much less to do? Any thoughts? |

Already mentioned several times:P Follow the links to other forum posts, for maximum information. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100513 is also interesting. The only bad thing is that from what I understand, the engine has to support the kio slave for playback. Alternative amarok can download the tracks you want to play to a temp directory, point the engine to that location, and delete it when done with it. |
