I saw some posts yesterday about another Linux open source project, plutohome.org, which they said had perfectly accurate cd/dvd recognition with cover art, extended attributes, etc. Anyway, the follow-up seems to be that functionality comes from a 3rd party plugin which is pulling the data from windowsmedia. But I don\'t see that anybody else is doing this, and I wonder why... Maybe nobody wants to touch it and get sued? But if it\'s just pulling data from a publicly available web server, what\'s wrong with it? Amarok is pulling it from another web server anyway (Amazon), the only difference with pulling it from the same site MS uses for Windows XP MC is that MS\'s site was designed for cd/dvd recognition and so it seems more accurate than doing a search on amazon, and less prone to problems. Any comments?

No, the difference is that Amazon has a public API with clear terms of use.
