however, if you haven\'t noticed yet, gaim is multiplatform and i know tons of kde users that prefer it over kde messengers...and if ya don\'t like gaim, why not at least thinking about adding something similar for kopete?

some k*s prefer gaim as kopete is still not that stable (which says us the version number) but it\'s a lot more usable in general

and now we come to the point why this isn\'t awesome imo:
what do you think? should the player integrate these contact thing, or the im-client? right, you\'re on the wrong website

we got a streamingserver with zeroconf announcement, and it isn\'t our work to integrate 300 im clients or 4 addressbooks, it\'s the other way around imo

Zeroconf doesn\'t have any relevance here really, it only works on local networks.

it has, with it kopete easily can determinate whether shouter is running, and finally kopete has to know/send if it\'s user provides a stream.

so:
amaroK-Shouter provides a zeroconf thing :whistle: , kopete sees the thing and can then look what\'s running on the stream, then kopete can send those infromation to another kopete user (and this user doesn\'t actually need zeroconf and also not amaroK, just a player which can play the shouter stream) so you need on one side amaorK+zeroconf+kopete and on the other side only kopete

this would be the best solution imo, but well not the right forum for a discussion about this

just type /media in konversation or kopete!
