It would be nice if you could configure amaroK to use something other than konquerer. As it is you get a rather unfriendly error message: \"could not find kfmclient\"

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I\'m not using KDE so that\'s not really an option.

so install kde or ask god2, I\'ve never managed to edit the config

yeah thats not a very helpfull suggestions/answer I also do not use KDE, and will not convert to it just to be able to change my default browser.

Why would you have to? I think kcontrol is pulled in via dependencies anyway, so just go ahead and exec it. If it fails for whatever reason, then \'kdeinit && kcontrol\' in an xterm should do.

Personally I use windowmaker + tray-only kicker set to minimum width and I\'ve never had much trouble with either amaroK, kcontrol or konqueror.
