Would there be any possibility of using libraries like BASS, timidity, mikmod, modplug, etc to add module format support to amarok?
Right now the only other program that I\'ve gotten such formats to play on (under Linux) is XMMS. It\'d be nice if I could get my MODs in the same library as my other music. ![]() |

Good news: GStreamer supports all of these formats just fine, using the modplug/mikmod/sidplay plugins

gstreamer-mikmod seems to work very well here. gstreamer-sidplay is horrifically broken - Playback stutters horribly. It seems like it plays half a second of audio, stops for half a second, then plays back another half second. All other gstreamer plugins work fine. Is there any way to configure options for gstreamer plugins? sidplay has a LOT of quality options, and usually defaults to low quality settings. This lack of configurability seems to be a common theme with all gstreamer playback plugins. |

Ooh, does this mean I can play midis with amaroK (as long as I use GStreamer)?

Oh... but your documentation still seems to equate it with Xine...

xine-lib can be built with modplug support.
