(Marking as OT because I know it\'s not an amaroK-specific issue, but it does affect amaroK usage.)
When listening to a stream that shows the artist-title combo, the name of the artist-title combo is getting cut off in amaroK at \' marks. ex: If the stream is playing \"Dogs D\'Amour - The Kid From Kensington\" amaroK shows: Dogs D Stream in question is 128kbps MP3. Non-English characters do the same thing: Revølver with the odd ø gets cut at Rev. Regular MP3s show the correct titles, it\'s just streams having this issue. This appears to be a KDE setting issue, not just amaroK. Kaffeine does the same thing, but XMMS shows it fine. Using SUSE, which defaults to UTF-8 on everything. Pretty sure the stream is latin1. Tried changing the Encodings > Shoutcast Metadata setting in amaroK to other settings but nothing worked. Anyone have ideas on a (possibly) KDE setting that would cause this? (Using KDE 3.4.2, SUSE 9.3). Post edited by: HairMetalAddict, at: 2005/09/22 11:29 |

Could be an encoding related bug in xine-lib, considering that kaffeine shows the same bug. Has probably nothing to do with KDE.
However, could also be a bug in amaroK.

Hit on the head with a sledgehammer.
It\'s a Xine issue. Switched to the Arts engine and the artist-title showed fine. Doh. ![]() |
