I am dying to have gapless playback of my music in amaroK. The gaps between the songs can really kill the mood.

It would be wonderful if it was possible to play back at least MP3 and Ogg Vorbis files truly gapless. I know MP3 is not a gapless format, but it is possible to get true gapless playback of MP3s encoded by LAME by reading the LAME-headers.

I guess this depends on the sound engines, rather than amaroK itself? I am using the xine-engine, does anybody know whether they are planning to implement true gapless playback of any formats? And what about GStreamer?
