I have big mp3 collection jn my FTP (~50Gb). Could you tell me if amarok can work with ftp servers. If not, how can i do it?

amaroK can only include files in the collection that are mounted to the local filoesystem. You can play those files by streaming them over http or something, but to have them in the collection they need to be mounted. Maybe nfs over an ssh tunnel or something, although it will take forever to scan.

I do not think so, as ftp is not meant to be used this way (although I heard of a driver that will mount ftp somehow). If you use that FTP server as a local fileserver, you probably want to get nfs up running (or smb) and mount this to use it. This is much easier than hacking around.
Although, I could think of a MySQL server on the same host as the ftp, where you read your collection information from and stream the media data then. Could be kind of cool... |
