There should be an option to number all tracks consecutively...

I arrange in the playlist my tracks in the order I want them to be numerated... and then an option in the context menu to assign to the track tag the number of the actual position on the playlist.

err?

a) put your files in the playlist
b) sort to your desire
c) mark them all
d) go to the \"Track\" row and give a right-click with your mouse.

there is something like that you asked for.. dunno the nameing in english right now, cause i use i18n german . something like \"auto assigne tracknumber\" probably.

btw: this is, if you use a recent version of amaroK. v1.3.7 will be your friend
