Hey all.
I\'m new to amarok, but so far it looks to be the best audio player for linux by far. I love the wiki look up. I have one question. What\'s up with collections? I\'m assuming that its your \"music library\". If so, how do you add songs to your collection? I\'ve tried using \"add media\" and by dragging tracks in from playlists. It all appears to import properly, however nothing shows up in the collection window. Its strange, because its supposed to be monitoring this folder, and this folder definately has music files in it. After clicking add media, the files will show up in the playlist box, but NOT the collection box. The drop down box says \"ENTIRE COLLECTION\" but its empty. Am I just mentally retarded, and missing some obvious view option? or is this not performing as requested. If you don\'t understand what I\'m saying, please say so, and I\'ll post screenshots. Thanks |

You need to add folders to be watched.
Settings > Configure amaroK > Collection Choose the folders you would like (check them) enable the options you would like, and then you are good to go. |

Thanks. Thats what I had thought. It still does not work.
I followed your steps, as you can see by the screenshots. Im using SQLite for the backend, on Fedora Core 5. Here is me adding to the collection. See the checked folder which has 11 .ogg files. http://idisk.mac.com/griffindj/Public/snapshot1.png Here is the context menu, which shows an empty playlist, but stil says 11 songs, 1 album, 1 genre. (as expected) http://idisk.mac.com/griffindj/Public/snapshot1.png Now here is the collection. Empty. Note that I have Entire collection chosen. http://idisk.mac.com/griffindj/Public/snapshot1.png Any idea whats going wrong? Or am I not viewing the collection properly??? Thanks. -Dave |

and what about cover manager? Does it show anything?
Try to drag files you\'ve previously added to collection from a file manager, and play them - what shows in context browser? |

Or you can rescan the collection.
