![]() Hi boys I need a little help: amarok version 1.9 had gstreamer engine and I read all audio file with gstreamer plugin, but today I have installed on my debian sid last build: 1.4.0 and it haven't gstreamer but only xine engine, it work fine but how I can read flac or ogg file??? what I need to install??? libflac and other things are on my debian......... Why in this version of amarok I can't choice my engine like before, and now no (infact the dependencies not permitted me to install gstreamer but only xine) ![]() Byz and thanks ![]() |

amaroK 1.4 dropped gstreamer 0.8, but supports gstreamer 0.10.
For xine being able to play more formats, it needs to be compiled with the according support. If you selfcompile, make sure the needed development headers (e.g. for libflac) are in place and are found by xine. |

Not, gstreamer is dropped for now in generally (for version 1.4)

So the only way to have support for flac by xine is compile it by myself, by synaptic I can't do nothing??? I donìt understand why gstreamer is not yet the engine of amarok???? why we can't choice the engine in setting like previous version??? ![]() |
