Global Shortcuts - All Crash amaroK

Sat Jun 03, 2006 2:38 pm
Hi All - new amaroK user (migrating from Windose and Foobar2000).

I'm running amaroK 1.4.0 on KDE 3.5.2 (Fedora Core 5), on a fairly standard installation and setup.

Player works fine & looks good (although I'm used to certain highly-customisable aspects of Foobar) - however, whenever I try to set up a global shortcut key for amaroK, I get the following error messages:

"The x key has already been allocated to the standard action y", where x is any combination wich involves the CTRL key, and y are various e.g. "Forward Word".

I get a choice to reassign or cancel - if I choose reassign, the player crashes unceremoniously, and any settings made since last restart of it are lost.

Any ideas (a forum search turned up very little).

Thanks in Advance.
