have you confirmed whether the stream works in any other player?

This stream works fine for me with Amarok 1.4.1 / xine-engine.

I've experienced this issue too. I think it is a problem of sky.fm and di.fm stream servers since if you add the pls files from their web site and then try to listen to the stream sources in Amarok, some work and some don't. And some simetimes work if you keep retrying the connection some more times

It works for me, using SVN, but not without the :80 in the URL. You might also try changing http:// to mms:// I've had luck with that on some streams in the past.

(K)ubuntu users take note: the xine-lib shipped by (K)ubuntu has a bug that prevents reliable stream playback. Upgrading to xine-lib 1.1.2 should fix this issue.
