Hi
What is the best way to fill the playlist with the whole collection?
My collection has about 30.000 songs.
1. At first I did a "select all" in the collection browser and the a "add to playlist". This ended in a crashed Amarok.
2. Then I made a list of all my music files and tried to add it as M3U file to the playlist. This causes Amarok to read all tags of the list and it takes around 10-15 minutes.

You could load the "Entire Collection" smart playlist.

Be warned however, that loading several thousands of tracks into your playlist will use a LOT of resources, particularly RAM, and is slow.

You'd probably be better off learning how to use smart playlists and dynamic playlists as a way of only adding those tracks you want to hear.

For example, the dynamic playlist "random mix" plays random tracks from your entire collection.
