Hi; I'm using Fedora Core 5 and originally I had the "amarok-extras-nonfree" installed so that Amarok would recognize the xine engine and be able to play mp3s. After doing an update with yum, it installed a new version of Amarok that no longer recognizes xine-engine, despite the fact that I have it installed as well as amarok-extras-nonfree. This is extremely frustrating. Is there anyway I can fix this? Thanks.

If you're dealing with packages from different repos that might be the problem. I think amarok-extras-nonfree is a livna package. If you're using it with the official amarok package it may be that livna hasn't caught up to them yet. A quick check of the livna repo does indeed suggest they haven't reached 1.4.1 yet for the nonfree package. My guess is you'll be fine once that arrives.
