mtp devices

Fri Sep 01, 2006 9:41 pm
i've downloaded amarok 1.4.2 which is reported to support mtp devices, ie creative zen sleek photo. This works with gnomad2 (libnjb and libmtp) but its a bit flaky. Does the latest amarok really support this and if so howto configure it? as media device browser can't seem to find it. Any hints?
best regards harry anderson

I got it working, but i did so many things i dont know what did it! :p
I have a Zen Micro with mtp firmware and Amarok doesnt detect it automaticly: you have to ad a device (in options, media-devices). Just give it a name and sellect the mtp plugin. After that you can click on the connect button in the main window. DONT FORGET TO TURN YOUR MTP DEVICE ON BY HAND! In my case libmtp doesnt turn my device on when i connect it to the usb cable.

If that doesnt work you could compile amarok by hand. Make shure you have the latest versions of libmtp and libusb compiled or installed before amarok.
