Amarok and Network folder issues

Tue Oct 24, 2006 1:11 pm
Hi all,

I have Amarok 1.4.3 installed on Kubuntu Edgy Eft with KDE 3.5.5. I have my music shared on a Windows (yes, yes I should know better) share which I have setup in my "Remote Places" in KDE.

I can open this folder and browse the folder, but if I try and open a song or an album Amarok crashes. If I copy the mp3 files to my home folder they play fine. I have installed Amarok on Ubuntu Edgy Eft and the same thing happens.

Also, why can't you browse Remote Places? If I use Rhythmbox in Gnome I can see the SMB folder and browse and play music with no issue.

Cheers in advance

You need to mount the share. Playing the SMB protocol will crash xine due to a bug, as you have experienced.

So, mounting the SMB will cure the problem. Cheers :)

==== kdBacktrace() ================

No idea if this may help with the problem.

Cheers
