I am working on networked mp3 player project. I plan on using amarok with airLCD to control it, and smb shares to stream music. I am using an epia 800 with a dlink dwl-520 wireless card and packard bell ir reciever. (the epia serial port is underpowered, if anyone knows how i can fix this please share) RIght now I have xubuntu installed and all the software running on it, but it is a bit bloated and takes a while for it to boot. Does anyone have any ideas for better distros to use? Maybe one that is epia 800 optimized?

perhaps look at the livecd when it's released? it's small and fast, and (if the new one follows the old one in terms of operability) will be installable to a hard drive.
I believe the old one was based on PCLinux (or something like that)
