Removing embedded images?

Sun Dec 10, 2006 1:34 pm
Greetings!

I have many mp3 files that along the years have been tagged with embedded cover images.

A long time ago amaroK used to display such covers correctly, but now it is no longer the case (garbled images are displayed). I think the change in behavior is because of taglib changes.

Anyway, I'm actually not interested in embedded tags anymore, since I can place an image file in the album's folder and obtain the expected result.

My question is: is there any (easy) way to remove those embedded cover images from mp3 files?

Thanks!

Have you searched for a way in the Internet?
There are command line tools that can delete (entire) tags (e.g. id3v2), some might be able to delete certain tag parts.
Anyway, this is not really Amarok specific.
