MobileRemoteSe rocks!

Mon Jan 15, 2007 9:54 pm
Ok, I've now got my Sony Ericsson w900i working with MobileRemoteSE!

It turns out that the necessary step was:
Code: Select all
rfcomm bind rfcomm0 <device> <port>

The easiest way (in my case) to get the device and port values was to start the Bluetooth Chat client from my Kubuntu menu, which cheerfully reports
Connected to on channel 3.

I don't know whether the port number would change from phone to phone (seems unlikely, within a particular model. But might vary between models)
Copying the ID and port number into the rfcomm before running MobileRemoteSE made all the magic work.

So I'm now off too enjoy the delights of music, with the PC in a different room from the speakers!

W00t! (as I believe the saying goes!)
