Feature Request: CD ripping

Thu Jan 18, 2007 9:21 pm
Hi there,

I would love to see a CD ripping part implemented in Amarok, that way I could dump kaudiocreator.

cheers,

Or maybe you might want to take a look at http://docs.kde.org/en/3.4/kdebase/user ... io-cd.html The KIO slave audiocd: in konqueror is very powerful.

i know about the KIO slave, thanks. You're right it's quite powerful. But I'd still prefer to do this directly in amarok.

I think yes.

To do cd ripping, just open the files-tab, type in audiocd:/ and drag the files onto the collection (move the cursor onto the collection-tab,untill it's get visible)

what we really need is a more intuitive way of doing this. amarok imo is the best audio program for linux right now. Now that I know it supports ripping, i'm REALLY happy, but in the next version this feature should be improved, even if it's just a panel button that takes you to the audiocd:/ in the files tab.
