MTP transfer and UTF-8

Wed Mar 28, 2007 8:31 am
Hi,
I have my mp3 collection on a fileserver, and the filenames are UTF-8 encoded. All filenames display correctly on my pc, and I can play all files in Amarok, but when I try to transfer files with "special" non-english characters to my Zen V, the copying just fails. I can copy the files with gnomad2 however, but of course I'd much prefer to use Amarok. What do I need to do to make this work? Help would be appreciated.

Is it about character coding.

Yes, I figured it's about character coding. That post you linked to doesn't unfortunately offer any help, unless I am to rename all my files to contain no national characters, which I am not about to do.
