In order to speed up adding lots of files to the playlist, it would be great to have an option to disable reading and writing of id3 tags. Is such an option planned for the next releases?

At this point, when you add tracks from your Collection to your Playlist, the tags are already in the database. No further tag access is required, and the database acccess is very fast. So I don't see what your problem is.

Perhaps you're trying to add 10,000s of tracks to your playlist, which you shouldn't do anyway.
