I have been looking at transferring files to my SE Walkman phone, using the Generic Audio Player configuration.

This includes transcoding files to mp3 format on-the-fly, from WMA (which I purchase thorugh my mobile phone contract, on my PC).

I use a self-modified version of a transcode script called "jamakode" (itself a modified version of "amakode"). The change I have made allow me to read the tags from some wma files (not all, I'm working on it) and place the tags in the output mp3.

It would be nice if this was automatically done, by Amarok, when it recieves the transcoded file back.

Amarok already transfers the file to the correct directory place on the mobile device. It would be nice if it is tagged, as well.

BTW, I have an iPod as well, now, so i assume I have to work out how to tag .m4a files, as well. I haven't played with this yet, as I want to get the mobile phone working, first.

I currently use v1.4.5 on Fedora Core 6.
