support for sony nw-hd5 mp3 player?

first of all, i love amarok! but its annoying that it doesnt support my sony nw-hd5 player (..and i hate sonys sonic stage sooooo much!).

will it someday be supported? does anybody have an idea/solution?

yes.. of course!

but iPod is supported too. so, i think the sony players could be supported too?!

Depends whether anyone has written linux drivers for the player. If there's no way of actually interfacing with the player while you're in linux, Amarok is gonna have a pretty tough time!

The difference is that the ipod-using community has put a lot of time and effort into making sure they can use their players with linux, via the libgpod project, and every time Apple change the database there's more work required to maintain connectivity.
