Any way to export songs stats?

Tue Oct 09, 2007 1:22 pm
Hi,
Recently, Automatix bricked my Kubuntu Feisty install, so when Gutsy comes out I'm doing a clean reinstall.  But I have a question.  Is it possible to export my stats and then reimport them?  I tried http://amarok.kde.org/forum/index.php/topic,9037.0.html but the mysqldump didn't work.

Back up your mysql db and restore after the fresh (k)ubuntu installation.

Unfortunately, I'm using SQLite.  Anyway to do it with that?

nvm, I found it.  You run tar cvfz `date +%Y%m%d`_mtdb_bkup.sql.tar.gz collection.db in ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/ and then to restore, tar xvfz ARCHIVE.tar.gz

You don't even have to compress it (depening whether backup filesize matthers to you), you can just copy collection.db to a safe location (f.e. a cd) and restore later
