Playlist, relative path

Thu Nov 08, 2007 1:29 pm
Hello, I would like to delete my playlists with out deleting the mp3's. I'm a little confused on how the configuration menu item (manually saved playlist use relative path) should this be checked or unchecked.

Thanks

Deleting a playlist will not affect the tracks listed in it.

The 'relative paths' setting only changes how the playlist file lists the tracks.

If you were storing playlists in /home/audio/playlists it would change from Absolute (/home/audio/Artist/album/track) to relative (../Artist/album/track)

In other words, relative paths give a smaller file (usually), but won't work if you move the playlist to another directory.

Again, neither option will cause deleting a playlist to delete your tracks.
