audioscrobbler protocol v1.2

Thu Nov 22, 2007 8:57 am
Hello, all!

someone, please tell me, that for amarok v2 you will implement (completely) the audioscrobbler protocol v1.2

For now it seems amarok (and a handful of other linux players as well with only protocol version 1.1 implemented) has problems scrobbling. The (few) clients supporting 1.2 do not seem to be affected by the same issue.

Eventually we'll support it. But the protocol is not documented; one has to analyze the source code to understand it. So we're not very keen on doing it.

What would you call this?

http://www.audioscrobbler.net/development/protocol/
or
http://code.google.com/p/thelastripper/wiki/LastFM12UnofficialDocumentation

actually it does not seem to differ significantly from 1.1, at least as far as submission is concerned.

Oh, that's good news :) This will probably increase the chances of us implementing it.
