I use Amarok on my machine at work as my media player, and it is great

At home I run a Freevo media centre, I like freevo but would love to have the features that Amarok offers available within freevo stats tracking, better browsing etc.

Rather than try and write this sort of functionality from scratch using python, is there anyway to control amarok from the command line? it could then in theory be launched and controlled via freevo?

The biggest downside is that I don't run kde (not enough power or memory), so I would need to run amarok without requiring KDE running

Any ideas, or is this just a non-starter?
