m3u playlist over http auth

Tue Mar 11, 2008 4:16 pm
Hi Guys!

The new web frontend for MythTV (0.21) allows some funky AJAX creation of playlists of the mp3s stored under MythTV, which you can then play over the net by the browser pushing an m3u file back to the client. However, this doesn't work with amarok as the music player. I believe this may be because the access is all done over http basic auth and there is no way to supply username/password to amarok (not in 1.4.8 anyway).

I've not come across any linux programs which could handle this, but it seems to work fine in Windows Media Player (even from a Windows Firefox browser). Is there any chance this feature could be added?
