I seem to have got a update of Amarok the other day (1.4.8 with build date Mar 26 2008), since then my  settings for Media Devices isn't saved. Am I alone with this problem ??

And also it for some reason rescans my collection with less then 10 minutes intervals wich is a bit disturbing..

I found the same problem. When I restart the program all the added devices disappear, and I can't use their names anymore.

The bug is at least confirmed from other sources then here..
