Simplify the GUI

Sat Apr 19, 2008 7:21 pm
Hi, I'm planning to arrange a party and was thinking about using my laptop as the music source. Amarok is quite simple out of the box, but I was wondering if you guys had some tips how I can make Amarok more foolproof. Ex. I want to make sure any guest don't click on "Build Collection" while playing a song, which will cause the computer to lag.

Is there anyway to "lock" Amarok, so that there is not possible to make changes to the playlist? We're not taking about a really killer machine here, so I just tought things like this might help to avoid any "catastrophe":p

Thanks for any input!

probably worth looking at either locking your screensaver, with perhaps an amarok screensaver showing (check on kde-apps.org - I think it's called AmarokFS) or learning about kde's kiosk.
