When I transfer to a media device it creates a folder for each podcast.

In "Configure Media Device" I have the song location configured as:

%album-%title.%filetype

and Podcast location set to:

/Documents/Music

Yet on the media device (an SD card) the podcasts are sync'd to:

%album/%title.%filetype

i.e. a directory is created for the album name, and then the podcast is created with only the file name.

Am I doing something wrong?

Yes, putting a slash in there is the wrong thing if you don't want %album to become a directory, use a different character to seperate them.
