Hi!

Is there a way to keep gnome-power-manager to go into hibernate mode while amarok is playing music? I strongly support power saving tools but I have to disable them because they keep shutting down my computer while I listen to music.

wazowazo I'm just thinking out loud here but i think this would be possible depending on whether gnome allows some functionality in their powersaving whatchacallits.
It might be possible for Amarok to use dbus dcop to send a signal to the gnome-power-manager daemon (if such a thing exists) on trackchange to prevent the machine from going to sleep. Of course this will depend whether or not it's possible for the power-saving-daemon (which may not exist) being able to take input *from scripts* (as opposed to some program with hooks built in via an api).

Well that's enough thinking out loud for me today. Back to the porn.

gnome-power-manager could just look at the process list and not going into hibernation when amarok is running.

Has anyone ever figured this problem out?  I have the same issues of course...computer will goto standby or hibernate even though I am playing music via Amarok.  Very annoying when you use your machine as a stereo and are in the other room.

Running Jaunty and Amarok 1.4.10

Thanks!!!!
