Fast Forward in streaming podcasts

Thu Jun 19, 2008 2:16 pm
Hi -

My first post.

Earlier today I managed to get Amarok looking great (I use Ubuntu and installed kcontrol to get the good fonts I need) and so AT LAST, (or so I thought) I now have audio absolutely handled. Well, handled except 1 thing.

Is it possible to fast forward streaming audio podcasts?

I have a netvibes account which I use to subscribe to Podcasts. The netvibes player (flash I think?) allows me to jump ahead in the audio stream. Damn useful when you want to jump ahead through 3 minutes of irrelevant advertising.

If there's a way to do this in Amarok then I'd much appreciated someone letting me know how to do it. Simply sliding the the cursor forward does nothing.

Other than that, Amarok is v v good.

There are two ways to listen to podcasts - you can stream them, or download then listen - If you want to be able to ffwd, you'll need to download the podcast first.
