I've spent some time trying to get music to stream from my computer to my iPhone/iPod touch over my wireless connection. Has anybody successfully done this with Amarok or anything else? Apparently the firmware on the touch based devices don't understand pls or m3u files coming from a http address. Unfortunately most streaming services provide pls or m3u files to access the mp3/audio streams on the server.

I've been successful streaming using Apache and PHP.  One thing to note when doing so, is that you will have to support multipart byteranges.
