Has anyone been able to figure a way to capture and save a log of the data that appears in the OSD and in the Context panel display?

I see the question brought up in various places a few times, but there are never any straight-forward solutions given.  Isn't this one of the most basic and obvious additons to any media player?  Before all the other stuff, this should exist.

Any thoughts or solutions?
