Am I just blind, or have the possibility for remote mySQL connection been removed from Amarok 2?

It's not yet implemented, but it is already planned for future versions. Probably in 2.1.
Stay tuned ![]()

Oh, sorry. I do need to be more specific.
I wanted to use MySQL locally with Amarok2, and start a new collection. I was able to find a dialog that suggests importing a new collection, but not a dialog for a new one. From the interface, Settings, Configure Amarok, Collection - shows import or rescan... the import allows me to make a connection to MySQL , and import, but I do not have a collection to import. I want to start a new one, but I did not see a place to specify this. If i execute "file *" on ~/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/mysqle/amarok/ , I will see many files reported as MySQL & DBase3 However, if i go to my database, and attempt to show tables, there's nothing there. mysql> show tables; Current database: amarok Empty set (0.01 sec) Here's what I'm looking for at this point: I do not see a dialog to specify a MySQL connection for a new collection. is that an option somewhere? I've these files, but they're not exactly using the MySQL to store data in a way i expect. Shouldn't I be able to see the tables? |

Technically, there is no difference whether you run your MySQL server on your local host or on a remote server. The same answer applies: Not implemented yet.
