wtf amarok 2.0.1.1 skipping tracks

Fri Jan 30, 2009 3:38 pm
I use Amarok 2.0.1.1 on Suse 11.1 and on each playlist when a song ends,it skips one track and starts playing the one after the skipped track. It is making Amarok unusable.

Use the xine Phonon backend. And make sure to install MP3 support for it (google knows it all).

I have googled. I find nothing. :(

I have installed the package, but that doesn't change anything. How do you set the backend in Ubuntu?

Open up the 'sound' module in systemsettings.

If you don't have systemsettings, you can try running kcmshell4 kcm_phonon

I'm experiencing this too.
Debian KDE 4.2.0 amarok 2.0.1

The phonon backend is xine... any ideas?

In fact, this strange bug actually solves another:
My collection is doubled: flac+mp3
As there does not appear to be anyway to select (file)type:
with amarok 2.0, selecting an album results in all tracks being doubled,
so skipping every other one can maybe be seen as a feature, not a bug!!

I discovered that on debian, installing the amarok (2.0.1) package from experimental
left the package amarok-engines-xine (1.4.10) installed.??

Removing this package (no longer needed) seems to have "fixed" the problem
(kdelibs5 was upgraded at about this time so I do not know if this also had an effect).

Now amarok 2.0.1 works correctly
(but I lost the "feature" that allowed me to play only my flac files...)

I use amarok 2.0.1 kubuntu 8.10 and kde 4.2.1 and I have this problem. I have xine-phonon backend and no amarok-engine-xine installed. and libxine1-plugins-1.15 installed.

Is there anything else needed to remove this problem.
