In 1.4 we had a great feature that showed the podcast description. It is one of the most important parts of Amarok for me and is what keeps me from moving to 2.0 Is there any plan to bring back this great feature?

Yes. It is on our todo list. You can already get info about podcasts when browsing the podcast directory by having the service info applet shown.

Nikolaj meant we'll make the info applet currently only used for services more generic so we can also use it to show podcast descriptions.

The data this is shown will come directly from the rss feed. From the episodes body, description-tag or itunes:summery in that order.
