My quest to find some decent DJ software for Linux has come up short, with some of the better options being years out-of-date and written in Motif.

I like how Amarok handles playlists and even lets you cue up within your current list. I think it would be a great simple DJ solution, so long as there was some way to select a track and begin playing it on a secondary sound device (a cue) while the primary keeps playing.

I looked through the scripts/plugins and did a couple of Google searches and couldn't come up with anything. Does anything like this currently exist? If not, is it possible to write with the current scripting API?

If nothing currently exists, I going to attempt to write a script or plugin to do this.
