Problem with two sound cards

Sat Jul 11, 2009 2:32 pm
Hi,

I have a sound bluster live and a integrated sound card. When I want to change the sound of a souncard to other I do:

asoundconf set-default-card XXXXX
or
asoundconf set-default-card YYYYY

When I do this, if I open vlc, the sound goes to the sound card appropiate but when I open some file with Amarok allways sound by the integrated sound card.

Any help?

Many thanks and sorry for my english!

Amarok probably uses the soundcard selected in the Phonon configuration of KDE4, try changing it there.

Correct. Amarok uses phonon for playback. So you should decide what you want to hear through which device, f.e. system sounds through the integrated and music through the SB Live!. Settings are done through Systemsettings or can be accessed directly in A2.

You're using Amarok prior 2.1 (Ubuntu?). So you should update to at least 2.1, better to 2.1.1.
