it would be awesome if Amarok supported music fanart from http://htbackdrops.com/ in some way!

Amarok could show the fanart in a now-playing fullscreen mode or something.

What do you guys think? 

Oh, btw, I also miss artist thumbnail support in Amarok. Both the discogs and last.fm scrapers for XBMC do a brilliant job fetching them. It would be great to have this feature in Amarok as well and display the artist thumbs when browsing the library...

This will slowly turn Amarok into a media center, which isn't the intention of the developers, I guess.

I don't see what fanart has to do with a media center.

Amarok does already show album art when browsing albums, so why shouldn't it show artist thumbnails when browsing artists? It would make more than sense and the data is out there and freely available. It just needs to get scraped. Maybe you could even use some code from XBMC.

I mean, I can understand not adding fullscreen fanarts, but at least artist thumbnails would be cool...

Images fixed. We have a size limit for the images, so I used the thumbnail versions instead
