Hi!
I'm not pleased with Amarok 2, (troubles playing music / poor GUI under ubuntu..) and i would like to go back to previous 1.4.6 version, but i can't find anywhere links that are still working to download that version! All i found is 1.4 history on git but even there, i can't install it. thanks for any help, and sorry for my poor english level |

You must be kidding, right?
1.4.6 is extremely old, why not use Amarok 1.4.9.1? Some distributions have named it 1.4.10, but this is the same package. Also, if you dislike Amarok, this might well be due to the fact that you are using an outdated version. Kubuntu 9.04 ships 2.0.2 by default which is also not really recent and outdated as well. You should give 2.1.1 a try, it is available in the jaunty-backports repository. FWIW, we are currently working on the release of Amarok 2.2, due in a few weeks. I am sure you will like that one ![]()

FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Wasn't kidding, but surely mistaken !
The version i had, was the last in Ubuntu deposits, just before it goes on 2.0. And i really loved this older version! It's just with the 2.0 and further that i'm not pleased with.. So, any link where i could get this package of Amarok 1.4.9.1 ? Thanks for your comprehension! |

The last Amarok 1.4.9.1 package I can think of in Kubuntu was in Intrepid, so you should check in the repo there. You will also need the old KDE3 libs.
JFYI: Amarok 1.4.x is not maintained anymore, and the support for Kubuntu will cease in October this year too.

You `ll find a repository for jaunty with the last amarok 1.4 here:
https://edge.launchpad.net/~bogdanb/+archive/amarok14/ Many people who dislike A2 use it without any probs. Just add the repository to your sources and sudo aptitude install amarok14. Thanks to Bogdan! |
