Reverse Scrobbling In Amarok 2.x!!!

Fri Sep 04, 2009 12:39 pm
Hi all. After Amarok 2.1.1 demolished my database again today (a known bug which will be addressed in 2.2 apparently ;D ) I started googling around for possible solutions. I found this script http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/La ... tent=65784 which can "reverse scrobble" last.fm stats and use them to update Amarok 1.4.x stats. If something like this existed for Amarok 2.x, then all this database wiping wouldn't be half as bad, at least until these bugs are properly resolved. Even if they are resolved in 2.2, my (and others') collection stats will be useless. Any chance of seeing such a feature anytime soon?

Regards

Luca

PS: I've also opened a new bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=206249

If you would have used the search option in this forum, you would have found posts regarding this topic.
The script, you've found only works for SQLite database aka. collection.db.
If there are some ruby gurus here, it should be easy to replace ruby-sqlite2 with ruby-mysql and the sql-statements should fit, too. But you need a mysqld running, which serves the Amarok database.
I use this script to update my old 1.4 db, which then is imported into Amarok 2.
But this is one thing, I would like to see in Amarok2, too (as posted often enough to probably annoy the devs).

Yeah I tried that too, but unfortunately there have been many changes to my collection since I used that database, meaning that only a small percentage of my tracks had their stats updated correctly...

PS Sorry devs if this has been talked about a billion times already :S
