using amarok 2.2, it is possible to hide devices in the local music browser by disconnecting them. however, there does not seem to be a way to reconnect them without restarting amarok. what i want is a way to hide individual devices that i never want to be shown. (i know there is the Unified View, but this hides everything and has the unwanted side-effect of merging the collections).

what i'm after is something similar to how things work in dolphin's Places Bar (i'm using version 1.2.1). when you right click a device, it has options to hide it or to show all entries, and the settings are persisted between sessions.

my particular use-case is that i have some external hard drives which are permanently mounted on my system. these usually don't contain any media files, so there's no need for them to be shown in the local music browser.
