In the saved playlists area on 2.2.1, you can see both local machine playlists and playlists on a connected iPod. How can you distinguish between the two locations and copy playlists between the local machine and an iPod?

This is on the roadmap. Actually, it has been for a long time but because of the usual developer time limitations hasn't happened yet.
I'm actually looking for suggestions: How would you prefer the different sources of playlists to be displayed? I have 3 possible options in mind: - A normal treeview. The source (iPod, local, ...) would be the top level. example: http://users.telenet.be/shanachie/files/amarok/treeview.png - A category view such as can be found in dolphin. example: http://users.telenet.be/shanachie/files/amarok/category_view.png - Similar to the collection browser in Amarok. example: http://users.telenet.be/shanachie/files/amarok/amarok_collection_view.png I'm planning to use the collection headers type since it would be consistent and I wouldn't need to write new drawing code. |

Consistency is good. As a user, switching from the collections to the saved playlists, I would expect to see a similar paradigm. So the Collection method (option #3) looks the most intuitive to me.

+1 for consistency with the collection.
I hope that xevix would find some more time to work on this. He's already my hero for what he did with ipod support, but unfortunately the playlists management still needs some love.
