Version 1 ID3 tags

Sun Dec 06, 2009 10:58 pm
Amarok 2 appears to ignore version 1 id3 tags, even for the artist and title fields. I believe Amarok 1.4 supported the older tags, and every other music player I've been able to find does as well.

Is there a reason I'm missing why Amarok no longer supports version 1 id3 tags? (Something wrong with them?)

If not, is there any way I can get Amarok to start reading the tags? Even if Amarok no longer wants to support the older version, giving an option to convert the tags rather than acting like they don't exist would be nice. It could be something like the "guess from filename" button which already exists.

Which exact Amarok 2 version are you talking about?

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Amarok version 2.2.1, which I believe is the latest available.
