I've been using Amarok with the left pane set to show my music directory as files. i don't care about ID tags - i prefer to browse my collection as files and folders.
My system is openSuse 11.2, KDE 4.4 and latest Amarok - 2.2.90. It's a new, clean install and upon opening Amarok for the first time, the files tab has changed it's behaviour completely. i see the directory list but if i double click on a file or directory, Amarok will give me the option to rename the file/directory and NOT open a directory or play the file immediately. Can it be changed ? i don't like the collections tab nor i will use it for that matter. Edited: It might be a bug after all: I realised that if i click on a folder and hit the Enter button it will change to this folder, at least it will show it at the the "bread crumbs" bar above, but it wont refresh the folder view unless i click in the folder name at the mentined bar above. Thanks

The new files browser is work in progress, please report any bug you find here: http://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=amarok
That's what a beta release is for, to look for bugs and reporting them ![]()
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

This should be fixed in 2.3, which will be available in a few days.

yap, fixed in the new 2.3 version. 't like the new implementation though. i still need more of a file browser, with a tree view for example. but non the less, it's back.
